High school students from throughout the Tucson area have worked together to organize Tucson’s first T.E.E.N. Summit (Together Expressing Enthusiasm for Nature). Two hundred students and community members will attend the day long conference at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum on Friday, April 5. Their common cause is to learn about the Sonoran Conservation Plan and to get more people involved in protecting our environment. 

Conference hours:

8:30 – 9:00 Registration, Ironwood gallery
9:00 – 9:45 Poster session, Ironwood gallery
9:45 – 10:00 Welcome by Aglahel Avilez, Sunnyside High School summit
coordinator of IMPACTT class. 
10:00 – 10:40 Breakout session #1 
10:45 – 11:30 Breakout session #2 
11:35 – 12:30 Lunch/ Keynote
12:35 – 1:20 Breakout session #3
1:25 – 1:45 Call to action by Sunnyside High School IMPACTT students.


Students are available for interviews ahead of & during the summit.

The First Annual T.E.E.N. Summit was a huge success.  About 200 students attended and shared the work they have been doing to benefit our environment.  The Summit was covered on KOLD news and several of the students were interviewed and made passionate pleas to save our desert.
