The Water Wonders

Sarah Carmello, IMPACTT c/o 2005

I walk slowly down the gleaming stream
as the water flows smoothly through the rocks,
The soft breeze is blowing silently
through my hair. Unexpectedly,
I see a vulture, radiant and fair
gliding through the sky, and full of color,
just the perfect sight.
Leaves rustle beneath my feet, how sweet
the smell of wet plants,
Fish float through the rushing crystal water
as they try to escape the intruders,
A group of kids laugh and play as they
splash through the water,
Wrestling in the cold moving water full of
excitement,
As I hear all the cheerful voices, it reminds me
of when I was a small child playing in water,
chasing all the other excited kids.
